Wavecom Open AT Software Suite is an embedded development platform for Wavecom wireless modules, designed to let developers create C applications that run directly on the modem. Built around the Open AT OS and its Application Development Layer (ADL), it removes the need for an external microcontroller and provides tight integration with the module’s cellular capabilities.
The suite includes an SDK, real-time OS services, and comprehensive APIs for voice, SMS, packet data, SIM access, and power management. It offers device I/O drivers (such as UART, USB, GPIO, SPI, and I2C), a built-in file system, and optional TCP/IP networking through the WIP plug-in, including support for secure sockets. Development tools feature an IDE, compiler toolchains, on-target debugging and tracing, performance profiling, and packaging utilities for deployment. Over-the-air firmware and application updates are supported for remote device management.
Open AT is widely used in M2M and IoT applications—such as telemetry, asset tracking, smart metering, vending, and industrial automation—where reliability, low power use, and a compact bill of materials are critical. By embedding application logic on the cellular module, the suite shortens integration time and leverages a proven, certified radio stack.
